Dr. Roberto Carapeto is an intellectual property attorney, researcher, and professor with extensive international experience in patent strategy, patent litigation, IP licensing, technology transfer, and commercialization strategies.

Roberto has practiced in both full service law firms and IP boutiques, advising multinational and Asian companies on IP driven business transactions, including licensing, patent prosecution and litigation, anti counterfeiting, unfair competition, and strategic IP asset management. Qualified in Brazil as a lawyer and holding a P.h.D. in Intellectual Property Law from Waseda University, from Tokyo, his work bridges legal, commercial, and policy perspectives, supporting effective collaboration between innovators, licensors, and licensees across jurisdictions, especially between Asia and South America.
Roberto is involved in several policy making activities on different committes and is a frequent speaker across Asia on Brazilian and South American intellectual property systems.

An active member of the LES, Roberto currently serves as a Board Member of LES Japan. He also previously was the global Chair of the Young Members Committee (YMC), before serving as the vice-chair for the Asia Pacific region for few years, supporting professional development, cross regional collaboration, and knowledge exchange across the global LES community.
