A former President of LES Britain & Ireland, Simon brings over 35 years of respected legal expertise in the field of commercial IP and strategy. A seasoned specialist in licensing and IP transactions, he has advised clients across a remarkably diverse range of industries over his career — from video games and fashion & luxury to consumer electronics, software, construction, and engineering to name a few — spanning the full spectrum of IP rights. He has been long recognised in leading peer review guides for his legal work and is listed in the IAM Strategy 300 World’s Leading Strategists.

Simon has held partnership roles at leading law firms as well as co-founding his own boutique IP law firm, in addition to GC roles. In 2020, he initiated a ‘multi-portfolio’ approach to his career, developing an expertise in the underwriting of IP risks in M&A and other commercial transactions. Since 2024, Simon has served as Senior Principal – IP at Icen Risk, a leading MGA (Managing General Agent) specialising at the forefront of a rapidly evolving global market for transaction insurance (covering W&I/R&W, tax, IP, and contingent risks) with offices based in London, mainland Europe and the US.
