HECTOR CHAGOYA is a Chemical Engineer and Attorney-at-law, with experience in patents since 1997. He was the first in Mexico to earn the Certified Licensing ProfessionalTM credential and has been consistently recognized as a leading patent professional in several international surveys since 2005. Under his leadership, more than 10,000 patents have been filed and prosecuted for companies in all fields of technology. He has drafted patent applications for filing in Mexico, before the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and multiple countries around the world. Hector has taught and spoken at numerous events, courses, seminars and congresses at universities, professional associations and organizations such as LES and WIPO, including participation in the WIPO program “Intellectual Property (IP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI): Empowering AI Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean”. He taught for 15 years, in the Chemical Engineering program of La Salle University, where he was also part of the Academic Council.

He is recognized by the National College of Chemical and Chemical Engineers (CONIQQ) as an expert in Economic Engineering, has published a variety of articles in specialized international journals and has co-authored chapters in books related to licensing, trade secrets, and pharmaceutical law and practice, including the Mexico chapter of “Artificial Intelligence and Patents” (2023). His leadership has been recognized to serve on the boards of several Mexican and foreign organizations related to intellectual property, technology transfer and chemical engineering in Mexico and abroad, and currently serves as part of the CLP Board of Governors.
