Joe joined Enterprise Ireland in 1997. Currently, he is the Divisional Manager of Research, Innovation and Infrastructure.

During his career with Enterprise Ireland Joe has worked in senior roles across Enterprise Ireland including Sectoral Roles, Client Service, High Potential Start Ups, Global Markets and as Secretary to the Board.

Joe was awarded a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Birmingham and holds a Masters Degree in Technology Management from the National Institute of Technology Management, UCD. In 2015 he was awarded a Diploma in Company Direction by the Institute of Directors. More recently, in 2024 he was awarded a diploma in Mentoring and Coaching.
