Dr Anke Nestler is Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting in Germany with over two decades of expertise in valuing intangible assets such as patents, trademarks, software, and knowhow. Anke is a publicly appointed and sworn expert in business and intangible asset valuation and holds credentials as Certified Licensing Professional and Certified Valuation Analyst.
She regularly provides expert opinions in contentious and non-contentious proceedings quantifying damages in German courts, international arbitrations and at the UPC.

Anke was expert in the pioneering damages assessment for NanoString (now Bruker) in the UPC enforcement case, the first economic damages report under UPC rules. Beside IP valuations her work spans damage assessment in post M&A, contractual breaches, share exchange disputes, and FRAND licensing for standard essential patents.

Drawing on her extensive experience, Anke also acts as an independent expert in licensing situations involving competition law, such as Licensing Negotiation Groups or competitors in joint R&D developments.

Anke is regularly recognised by Lexology as an expert on quantum of damages in arbitration and in IP valuation. She is also a ranked expert of IAM Strategy 300 in the category valuation and licensing. Anke is a board member of the Licensing Executive Society in Germany, chairs the IP Valuation Working Group at LES Germany, and also of the LES International IP Valuation Committee.
