Sanjay has practiced at the forefront of technology and intellectual property for over twenty years advising some of the world’s most prominent companies. He has served as Chief Patent Counsel to Oracle Corporation, where he guided global patent strategy, and has held senior roles at IPVALUE Management and Intellectual Ventures, organizations at the cutting edge of patent monetization and technology commercialization. Sanjay has been repeatedly recognized by Intellectual Asset Management Magazine as one of the world’s leading IP strategists. He has also testified before a U.S. Congressional Subcommittee in hearings that led to passage of §19 of the America Invents Act.
Sanjay is an Associate Professor of Law in the Intellectual Property Law Program at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he developed and teaches a class on Software Intellectual Property Law and Licensing. A frequent speaker on IP law, Sanjay has also served in leadership roles on several intellectual property association boards. Sanjay is also a co-inventor on U.S. Patent 8,620,800, “Determining Patent Infringement Risk Exposure Using Litigation Analysis.”
Sanjay earned an MS in Computer Engineering and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University, and his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, where he was an editor of the Syracuse Law Review. Prior to law school Sanjay worked as a CPU design engineer.
