Guido Quiram studied electrical engineering, information technology and economics at RWTH Aachen University and graduated as an engineer in 1997 and as an industrial engineer in 2000.
Guido Quiram has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2007 and, following his training at the law firm Michalski Hüttermann & Partner, was admitted as a German patent attorney and representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office in 2010. This was immediately followed by his registration as a professional representative before the European Patent Office in 2011.
Prior to his work in intellectual property law, Guido Quiram worked for more than ten years as a senior project manager and technology expert for American, Swiss and German companies in Switzerland and Germany. His wide-ranging and international industry experience enables Guido Quiram to identify clients’ needs precisely and, after providing comprehensible advice, to fully satisfy them with the possibilities of intellectual property protection.
Guido Quiram has extensive practical experience in obtaining, enforcing and defending technical property rights both before the relevant offices and courts and out of court. He specialises in the fields of electrical engineering, computer-implemented inventions, telecommunications, automation technology, photovoltaics, measurement and control technology, high-voltage technology, mechanical engineering and process engineering. In addition, Guido Quiram also regularly prepares expert opinions, for example in the context of company disposals, for product approval or for white-spot analyses. He also has extensive expertise in trade mark and design protection.
Guido Quiram has been regularly recommended as a patent attorney by the JUVE Handbook for Commercial Law Firms for several years.
Guido Quiram was born in Rheydt in 1972, has a son and lives in Mönchengladbach. In addition to German, he is also fluent in English and speaks basic Spanish and Japanese. In his free time, he enjoys jogging, planting and pruning old varieties of fruit trees, regularly barbecues in winter and is involved in charitable work.
