Charles Randolph leads a multi-disciplinary team that ensures effective liaison with key industry and NGO stakeholders on innovation and intellectual property issues spanning the breadth WIPOs work, including patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and copyright.
Prior to joining WIPO in 2017, he served as an officer in the U.S. Foreign Service. His 25-year diplomatic career included eight overseas postings in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Central Asia, Scandinavia, and Europe. On his final diplomatic assignment, he led the U.S. State Department’s Office of Intellectual Property Enforcement. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and French from the University of Connecticut, and a Master of Arts in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
