Giacomo Garbagnati is a lawyer, Head of the IP & Start-up Department at SG.LEGAL in Milan, where he assists companies, research institutes, deep-tech start-ups and venture capital funds in national and international technology transfer transactions. His professional activity includes IP litigation, negotiation of complex agreements, protection of distinctive signs and strategic transactions related to the exploitation of emerging technologies.
He is Co-Chair of the Technology Transfer Committee of LESI, as well as Vice-Chair of the Young Member Congress (LESI) and Executive Committee member of LES Italia, with responsibility for the YMC. At the same time, he is a partner and board member of the Bolzano Slush’d startup event and member of TEF Rocket evaluation board.

In these roles, he contributes to the international development of best practices in licensing, innovation and intellectual property rights management, organising training activities and representing the association in cross-sector round tables.
