Senior partner of the Brazilian intellectual property law firm VAZ E DIAS ADVOGADOS & ASSOCIADOS (www.vdav.com.br) and Professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) where he leads the classes of intellectual property law and innovation law for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Besides working extensively with litigation and enforcement of intellectual property rights, he holds particular expertise on innovation and technology transfer agreements and licensing. Most specifically, he has been assisting companies, startups and public universities to draft R&D Agreements, equity investments, equity crowdfunding and other business transactions to promote partnership and technological development. Recently, he has been involved in the creation of accelerators of incubators, “regulatory sandboxes” and elaboration/revision of the “Public Contract for Innovative Solution” (CPSI), which is an agreement demanded by public agencies eager to test and experiment technologies for internal use.
