Philipp Groz is a partner at the Swiss law firm Schellenberg Wittmer. He is the head of the firm’s IP practice group and the co-head of the life sciences industry group. He has 20 years of experience in representing clients in domestic and international litigation and arbitration proceedings, with a focus on disputes related to technology, IP, trade secrets, unfair competition, licensing, distribution, and product liability. Philipp also assists clients in drafting and negotiating licensing, R&D, distribution, and other agreements, and advises on IP aspects of transactions. In addition, Philipp also regularly sits as an arbitrator.

Philipp is the current president of the Licensing Executives Society Switzerland and also serves on the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Advisory Committee and on AIPPI’s Standing Committee on ADR. He is on the list of arbitrators of the ICC Swiss Commission of Arbitration and ADR, and listed as a neutral with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center and with the UPC’s Patent Mediation and Arbitration Center. He is also recognized as one of “The World’s Leading Technology Arbitrators and Mediators” (The Tech List) by the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center.

Philipp graduated from the law school of the University of Zurich (2001) and earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from NYU Law (2007). He was admitted to the Zurich and Swiss bar in 2004.
