Dave is a Partner (IP Solicitor) in Potter Clarkson’s Litigation & Licensing team. Dave specialises in non-contentious intellectual property law, with historic experience in significant contentious patent matters. Dave specialises in the Life Sciences, biotechnology and synthetic biology, as well as industrial chemistry. Dave has specific experience working with platform technologies for diagnostics, Machine Learning platforms for optimisation of therapeutics, proteins and biomanufacturing, in silico models for clinical trials, and personalised medicine including development of organoids.
In particular, his practice includes drafting highly complex, multi-jurisdictional agreements including licensing arrangements, research and development agreements and complex collaboration agreements, as well as providing commercially focussed IP strategy advice for his clients.
Prior to joining Potter Clarkson in April 2018, Dave trained and qualified at a leading national law firm before spending a period as Assistant General Counsel at Unidays Ltd – the world’s largest student affinity network, managing its IP portfolio, agreements and international expansion, which included negotiating agreements and supporting the production of creative content (including influencer agreements) for international partners.
