Anji is a senior innovation professional with over 20 years’ experience translating early stage academic research into real world impact within the life sciences. She brings extensive expertise in intellectual property strategy and execution, including licensing, strategic partnerships, funding, business development, and the management of healthcare technology portfolios, alongside the development of knowledge transfer policy and practice.
A strong advocate for professional development in technology transfer, Anji leverages her deep experience in translational research, IP protection and management, licensing, and company formation to train and empower emerging innovation professionals. At LifeArc, she leads the organisation’s global translational education, training, and skills agenda. She is Programme Director for LifeArc’s Translational Skills Fellowship programmes and leads LifeArc’s contribution to the Innovation Hubs for Gene Therapies skills strategy, with additional leadership responsibility across selected projects within LifeArc’s translational portfolio.
Anji is a committed advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion within innovation. She is a co founder of Global Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in Technology Transfer (GEDITT) and works closely with academia, industry, and professional associations to support the development and implementation of inclusive strategies and policies. She is also an active contributor to policy engagement initiatives.
Anji holds MSc and PhD degrees in genetics from Imperial College London, and an MSc and Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London. She is PRINCE2 certified, a Registered Technology Transfer Professional and a Certified Licensing Professional. She serves in multiple expert and board advisory roles, is Chair of the LESI Life Sciences Committee, and a member of the BioIndustry Association Cell & Gene Therapy Advisory Committee.
